The Earth Balloon is big funWells Fargo Kids' Area

This attraction isn't just for kids — it's a whole-family experience! You can see, do, learn, and play throughout the Expo! A smorgasbord of kids' activities is planned for both days, featuring educational partners from SEEK.

*The Kids' Area will be staffed, but children must be accompanied by an adult.

La Leche League

A Mothers' Room and changing area
will be hosted by the La Leche League.


Kids' Activities

SEEK: Sharing Environmental Education KnowledgeThe Expo makes learning fun, with a variety of hands-on activities that appeal to all ages. Crafts, presentations, and music, with lots of assistance and encouragement.

Saturday (May 2)

  • All day: Minnesota AFL-CIO
    Practice being an electrician and learn how light switches work. See how power is generated by solar panels and how to capture it. (AFL-CIO building)

  • 10am - Noon: Minnesota Zoo and the Zoomobile
    See live animals to capture your imagination and stimulate your curiosity about the natural world.

  • 10:30am - 11:30am: The Teddy Bear Band (Music Stage)
    Take an upbeat journey with musical games that inspire movement, imagination, and fun!

  • Noon - 3pm: KidWind Project
    Kids of all ages will be inspired as they design their own wind-turbine blade.  Explore the science and engineering of wind turbine technology.

  • 3pm - 6pm: Happy Trails Family Nature Club
    Get your hands dirty! Plant native seeds and learn how easy it is to reconnect with the outdoors.

Sunday (May 3)

  • All day: Minnesota Children's Museum
    Kids will be discovering our environment through fun, learning-focused play. With "recycled newspaper creations," kids can pick a craft to make, like a seedling planter pot or some other design, or imagine and create a project of their own.

  • All day: Minnesota AFL-CIO
    Practice being an electrician and learn how light switches work. See how power is generated by solar panels and how to capture it. (AFL-CIO building)

  • 11am - 2pm: The Raptor Center (AFL-CIO building)
    Live raptors will capture your attention and engage your senses with family-friendly activities.

  • 2pm - 5pm: Science Outside the Box (AFL-CIO building)
    Be a scientist! Collect and analyze while you perform water-filtration experiments.

  • 2:30pm -3:30pm: The Splatter Sisters (Music Stage)
    From start to finish, their show entertains kids and adults of all ages.

On the main floor, visit the Earth Balloon and experience the world in a whole new way. 

  • Enter the gigantic, 20-foot-high globe through the International date line in the Pacific Ocean.
  • Explore our planet through interactive lessons.
  • Discover the vast amount of water on the earth and what you can do to help protect it.
