Recycle Compact Fluorescents at the ExpoRecycle Compact Fluorescent Lights at the Expo!

Free recycling from Great River Energy

Compact fluorescent light bulbs (CFLs) utilize a very small amount of mercury sealed within glass tubing. They need to be recycled, not placed in the trash.

Great River Energy wants to make this recycling process FREE and EASY for you!

Bring your expired CFLs with you to recycle at the Great River Energy Recycling Center, the recycling tent outside of the main entrance doors of the Grandstand. We’d love to talk with you, answer your CFL questions, give you a gift just for stopping by—and of course collect your expired CFLs for recycling at no charge.

A Brighter Idea

A Brighter IdeaBy changing something as simple as the type of light bulb you use, you could save up to $30 in energy costs over the course of each bulb’s life. Compact fluorescent light bulbs use just 25 percent of the energy of a traditional incandescent bulb to produce the same amount of light — so installing CFLs in your home will not only save you money, but also reduce greenhouse gas emissions. We think you’ll agree — that’s A Brighter Idea.

Great River Energy and its 28 member co-ops have launched a new campaign—A Brighter Idea—providing customers with ideas and information about how to conserve energy and save money at home. Visit www.mnbrighterideas.com and learn about the use of compact fluorescents.
